JS & Associates Youth Foundation
Associating Through Sports Brings Joy
Life is about choices. One wrong turn can derail a promising young life. Johnny Gray II believes it was hard work and God’s grace that led him down the path to success.
The four-time Olympian and American record holder in the 800-meters grew up watching some of his peers make bad choices that would determine their destiny. With that in mind, JS & Associates was formed with the purpose of using athletics as a venue to help motivate and guide children who stand at the cross roads, to take the right path.
An opportunity to be paired with an Olympic hopeful, follow their trials and tribulations and ultimately sit in the stands and cheer them on at the Olympic trials, will be offered to 20 girls and boys in this upcoming Olympic year.
Young athletes will have the opportunity to submit an essay stating why they believe they should be chosen for this amazing journey. A panel of former Olympians and board members of JS & Associates will select the lucky 20.
It is the vision of our non-profit organization to mentor our children and teach them to become junior-ambassadors of our mission. By setting and working toward goals, improving academic performances, promoting drug and alcohol awareness, our chosen children will not only better their own lives and futures, but will serve to motivate and inspire their peers.
We at JS & Associates have recently learned of the tragic death of a 14-year-old track & field athlete from Northwood High School in Irvine, California. Ashton Sweet was on her way home from a birthday party with three of her friends in a car driven by one of the girl’s father when a 26-year-old drunk driver ran a red light, hitting the car she was in and killing her. We know that this beautiful young athlete whose life was so suddenly cut short, was very dedicated to helping those in need. She worked with disabled students at her school and was helping to raise money to build schools in Africa. We believe Ashton’s legacy should live on and we have decided to name our chosen 20 Ashton’s Athletes.
Although this is our first event organized by JS & Associates, we plan to hold summer camps in the future featuring Olympic and Nationally ranked athletes giving underprivileged and at-risk children an opportunity of a lifetime. We also have plans for drug and alcohol awareness programs in schools that lack the funds to implement them. Finally, it is our goal to increase the number of inner-city and at-risk children who go to college and we will be organizing SAT and ACT preparation programs for those who are unable to afford outside tutoring as well as a mentoring program matching young athletes with collegiate athletes at some of our finest Southern California universities.
Your donations and support for our effort to empower those who hold unlimited potential yet lack the guidance and means to reach their dreams is appreciated. Please help us in our mission to guide our children on a path to success!
We encourage you to check our site periodically for updates on upcoming events and programs.
